Workshops
Spend a full day immersed in creativity with a 10am–4pm drawing, painting, and mixed media workshop led by landscape artist Addy Gardner. Held either in Addy’s home studio or outdoors in a nearby natural space, these workshops offers the perfect balance of structured guidance and personal exploration. Working from elements found in nature or still life, you’ll experiment with pencil, watercolour, ink, and collage, developing your own expressive approach. Suitable for all levels, this day is designed to spark creativity and deepen your artistic practice. Workshops are particularly good for groups of friends and like minded people.

Which workshop?
Fields & River
Learn to respond to the landscape through sketching.
Participants will have a short introduction to landscape painting followed by time out in the fields (if the weather is bad we will stay in and use photographic materials to work from). The afternoon will be spent in the studio developing sketches. Participants will leave with lots of sketches and a completed large piece on canvas board.
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.

Oil Painting Still Life
Learn to respond to a still life setup using water soluble oil paint.
Participants will have a short introduction to still life painting followed by some short sketches to warm up and study the still life. We will then learn the basics for setting out a composition and measuring to determine relationships between objects also taking a brief look at colour mixing. The afternoon will be spent in the studio developing a completed large piece on canvas board trying out or developing skills learnt.

Creating a Mixed Media Landscape
Learn to respond to the landscape through sketching and the use of a variety of different materials.
Participants will have a short introduction to mixed media landscape followed by time out in the fields (if the weather is bad we will stay in and use photographic materials to work from). The afternoon will be spent in the studio developing sketches using mixed media materials such as paint, ink and collage material. Participants will leave with lots of sketches and a completed large piece on canvas board.
