Sea Longing Show

Spring Cheltenham, 3 - 16 June 2026

This exhibition featured a recent body of work inspired by a small cove in Cornwall, where I spent a few days with three generations of my family. The work explored both the cove itself and the presence of the people I was there with—my family.

I began researching the human form within the landscape, considering how our bodies occupy and relate to the environments we inhabit, and how we relate to one another within those spaces. This developed through looking at the work of Rubens, as well as drawing the landscape and observing my family as we gathered in different parts of the cove.

The final exhibition in Cheltenham focused solely on the landscape aspect of this investigation. However, the visual research I made of my family within that place will continue to inform my wider practice and the work that follows.

The following images show some of the sketches I did and also a link to the final show, Sea Longing.
